Reduce heat, cover tightly and boil gently for 30 minutes. 3. Shut off heat, let stand on burner for 25-30 minutes until the Canoe Freshly Roasted Wild Rice reaches desired texture. Drain. Note: For a firmer, nuttier texture, decrease cooking time. For a softer, more tender rice, increase cooking time. Liquids: Instead of water, beef-, chicken- or vegetable-based broths are suggested to use in the recipe to better enhance flavor (use broths with no MSG or salt added). 10 Cooked - 1/3 Cup Servings (3-1/3 Cups): 1 cup uncooked Freshly Roasted Wild Rice; 8 cups water or broth; 1/2 tsp oil or butter. 21 Cooked - 1/3 Cup Servings (7 Cups): 2 cups uncooked Freshly Roasted Wild Rice; 14 cups water or broth; 1 tsp oil or butter.
