Refrigerate after opening. Store in a cool and dark place. Empty the jar over 2 lb of boiled lentils. Add 3 cups of water and bring to boil and then simmer for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally. Lentils can be substituted with chickpeas or any kind of beans.
