You will need - Cake Mix: 3 eggs, 1/2 cup (113 g) softened butter, 1/4 cup (50ml) cold water. Filling Mix: 2 cups (500 ml) whipping cream and 3/4 cup (175ml) cold water. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8 inch (20 cm) springform pan. 1. Preparation of Batter: Put the cake mix into a mixing bowl. Add eggs, butter and water. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed until blended (30 seconds). Scrape down the bowl. Then, beat on high speed for three minutes or until batter is smooth and creamy. 2. Turn batter into prepared springform pan. Bake in preheated oven on middle rack for 35-40 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely. 3. Filling: Beat whipping cream to stiff peaks. In another bowl, beat filling mix and water for one minute or until creamy. Fold half of the whipped cream into the filling mixture, thoroughly. Gently fold in the remaining whipped cream. Reserve 1/5 of the cream filling for decorating. 4. Cut cake in half. Sprinkle cut surfaces with kirsh liqueur, if desired. Spread cherry filling on bottom layer. Cover with half of the cream mixture. Place top cake layer over cream. Cover top and sides of cake with remaining half of cream mixture. Decorate with reserved cream and chocolate pieces. Chill at least two hours.
