For machine washing: Add 1 or 2 capfuls (for extra softness) to the last rinse cycle or pour into the separate dispenser of your washing machine.
For hand washing: Add to the last rinse of your handwash. Dilute 1/2 to 1 capful (for extra softness) of fabric softener in 1.3 gallon of warm water.
So not put undiluted fabric softener directly onto your laundry.
