Cooking on the Stove: 1. In a saucepan, bring 2-1/2 cups water to a boil (add 1 tbsp tub margarine and 1 tsp salt per cup of uncooked rice, if desired. For drier rice, use 1/4 cup less water. For moister rice, use 1/4 cup more water). 2. Stir in 1 cup rice. 3. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes or until all water is absorbed. Yields 3-1/2 cups cooked rice.
