To make easy drop scones you will need: 6 tablespoons cold butter, cut into pats; 1 large egg; 1/3 cup milk. 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet or line with parchment. 2. Blend mix and butter together until crumbly. 3. Whisk egg and milk and add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. 4. Scoop dough onto baking sheet, using about 1/3 cup for each scone. Leave 2 inch between them. 5. Bake in upper third of oven for 14 to 16 minutes, until they're a light golden brown. Remove from oven, wait 5 minutes, and serve warm. Yield: 8 scones.
