Store in a cool, dry place. Soup: Add 8 tbsp (1/2 cup) base to 8 oz boiling water for 1 cup soup. Stir vigorously with a wire whip until smooth. Add other ingredients (cooked vegetables, clams, potatoes, rice, meat, barley, and/or noodles) to make soup. Heat to serving temperature, stirring occasionally. Do not boil, but cook base to 165-200 degrees F. Additional water may be added to obtain desired consistency. Basic Start: Cream soup (as prepared above) can be used as white sauce for casseroles, cheese sauces, white wine sauce, etc.
