Tradition Method for Making Polenta: In a large pot, bring 1 quart of lightly salted water to a simmer. Add 1 cup (8 oz) of polenta in a constant but gradual stream, stirring the pot all the while with a whisk or wooden spoon in one direction until all the polenta has been incorporated into the water. Constantly stir to avoid lumps and cook on Low heat, adding small amounts of hot water if mixture gets too thick. The polenta is done when it is perfectly creamy and has attained the consistency you desire. Makes 4-6 servings. Serving Suggestions: Serve as you would mashed potatoes, or place polenta in a large plate, flatten to diameter of plate, top with tomato sauce and grated cheese. Cooking time: 7-8 minutes. To be consumed before the date marked on package. Store in a cool dry place.
