Step 1: In a non-stick saucepan, fry 2 sliced chicken breasts in 1 tbsp oil for until golden brown. Add the spices and mix. Step 2. Stir in the sauce and then sprinkle 5 oz uncooked basmati rice on top and add 5 fl oz water, making sure the rice is covered. Do not stir. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer on the lowest heat for 20 minutes. Remove from the heat and let stand for 10 minutes. To Serve: Stir carefully to mix and serve with a spoonful of plain yogurt on the side (optional). This Biryani is great with chicken, but it also goes well with shrimp. Please ensure food is fully cooked and piping hot throughout before serving. Serves 3. Store in a cool dry place. Once opened, refrigerate and use within 3 days.
