In saucepan with tight fitting lid, add 2 & 1/4 cups hot tap water, entire contents of package, and 1 tablespoon butter or margarine (optional). Stir while bringing mixture to a boil. Allow to boil one minute. Stir. Cover saucepan tightly, reduce heat to simmer and cook undisturbed for 20-25 minutes. Fluff lightly with fork to distribute seasoning. Serve. Variations: At the beginning of step No. 2 add pieces of smoked, cubed ham or crumbled bacon. Either of the ingredients will complement this versatile dish. Microwave: Combine contents of package, 2 & 1/4 cups hot tap water and 1 tbsp butter or margarine in a 1 & 1/2 quart microwave safe casserole dish. Cover and microwave on high 3 minutes. Reduce to 50% power and microwave 20-22 minutes longer, or until most of water is absorbed. Remove, and let stand for 5 minutes. Fluff and serve.
