In saucepan with tight fitting lid, bring 2 & 1/4 cups of water to boil. Add 1 tablespoon butter or margarine (optional), then contents of this package. Stir while boiling one minute. Cover saucepan tightly, reduce heat to simmer and cook undisturbed for 25-30 minutes. Fluff lightly with fork to distribute seasoning. Serve. Variations: Stuffed Peppers: Prepare rice according to package instructions. Stuff 8 blanched peppers with rice. Cover each with a slice of American cheese. Bake in 350 degree oven 10 minutes. Microwave: Combine contents of package, 2 & 1/4 cups hot tap water and 1 tbsp butter or margarine (optional) in a 1 & 1/2 quart microwave safe casserole dish. Cover and microwave on high 3 minutes. Reduce to 50% power and microwave 20-22 minutes longer, or until most of water is absorbed. Remove, and let stand for 5 minutes. Fluff and serve.
