Easy Cooking: Stove Top: 1. Mix 3-1/4 cups water, 2 tablespoons butter, margarine or olive oil (optional) and Zatarain's Red Beans and Rice Mix in 2-quart saucepan. 2. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 25 minutes or until most of the water is absorbed and rice is tender. Stir occasionally to prevent rice and beans from sticking. 3. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving. Red Beans and Rice will be saucy. For less saucy rice, reduce water by 1/4 cup. Microwave: Microwave ovens vary; cooking times may need to be adjusted. 1. Mix 3-1/4 cups hot water, 2 tablespoons butter, margarine or olive oil (optional) and Zatarain's Red Beans and Rice Mix in 2-1/2 quart microwavable bowl until well blended. Cover. 2. Microwave on high 5 minutes. Stir. Microwave on medium (50% power) 18 minutes or until most of the water is absorbed and rice is tender, stirring occasionally. 3. Let stand in microwave 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving. Caution: Bowl and contents will be very hot. Use pot holders when removing from microwave. Note: Water and cook time may be adjusted to yield firmer or softer rice.
